Make a Moo or Two - Wheels

I had so much fun with the theme at Make a Moo this week!

The 'hot rod' moo is actually a piece of a photo that my husband took of a 1930's car a couple of weekends ago. Gorgeous car...The license plate read; BD2DABN. lol

And I was having so much fun that I made this one 'just because'.

sky show....

We had quite the sky show tonight with the moon and sunset. None of these photos have been enchanced. I wouldn't have believed the color of the sunset had I not seen it with my own eyes. We often get sunsets like that at this time of year (rural dust often contributes).






This isn't that great of a picture, but the colors are spectacular.

Think Monday Think ATC - Dog Days

Dog Days of Summer is the theme at TMTA.

I had no intention of using a dog image when I started, but then I remembered that I had this basset hound and fan that I had been dying to use. Here was my opportunity.

The background is acrylic paints and stamped images. The edges and shading are done with distress ink.

How fitting that I'm sitting here sweltering in 101 degree heat the day I make this. lol

My tribute to the dog days of summer....Enjoy!

Altered Diva Workshop Pieces

The class was a lot of fun and I learned how to make some fantastic backgrounds, which was my main goal for taking it. I highly recommend the Softly Spoken Workshop if you ever get the chance to take it.

Here are the two pieces that I put together for the workshop. This piece was just a learning experience, as the background is the one I didn't like much. It ended up being the test piece for all the techniques, and by the time I was through it had turned into quite a nice background. lol Since it was a large piece I cut it down to a 4" x 6" for this collage.


This one is my favorite, although I'm still not 100% happy with it. When I first did the lettering I couldn't see using black (too harsh for the piece), so I used white. Now I'm thinking that maybe blue would look better, and I might go back in and do that eventually (or I may just leave well enough alone). The face and wings are elements available for use in the workshop, the rest of the pieces are from my own paper collection.

InchybyInch - Circles

The theme this week is circles....

I had a heck of a time photographing these. I'm either going to have to stop doing dimensional stuff or get better at photographing it! I had a lot of trouble with glare due to using glass pieces.

Mixed Media Monday - Fashion

One of my favorite themes at MMM this week.

This is a 5" x 7" canvas board, layered with paint, tissue paper, a vintage image, stickers, and stamps (the numbers are from studio g). I highlighted the woman's jewelry with a white gel pen to make it stand out more.

Saturday's Workout - Domino

This is my first time participating in the Saturday Workout as well. The theme caught my attention since I've been working with domino's off and on for a few years.

Here are three that I did several years back...The ones with the woman are edged with copper foil tape.

And this one I did specifically for this challenge.

Sunday Postcard Art - Doors

This is my first time taking part in the Sunday Poscard challenge.

The base for my card is a picture that I took a couple of weekends ago while at the coast. We were walking around town and right around a corner stood this flower shop. I couldn't resist taking a picture. I posterized the image, added the quote and butterfly, and antiqued the edges with ink from studio g.

4x4 Friday - Handmade Backgrounds

This weeks theme....

I made the orangey/red background using a page protector sheet, ink pads and matte cardstock, adding collage elements to finish the piece.
