The class was a lot of fun and I learned how to make some fantastic backgrounds, which was my main goal for taking it. I highly recommend the
Softly Spoken Workshop if you ever get the chance to take it.
Here are the two pieces that I put together for the workshop. This piece was just a learning experience, as the background is the one I didn't like much. It ended up being the test piece for all the techniques, and by the time I was through it had turned into quite a nice background. lol Since it was a large piece I cut it down to a 4" x 6" for this collage.

This one is my favorite, although I'm still not 100% happy with it. When I first did the lettering I couldn't see using black (too harsh for the piece), so I used white. Now I'm thinking that maybe blue would look better, and I might go back in and do that eventually (or I may just leave well enough alone). The face and wings are elements available for use in the workshop, the rest of the pieces are from my own paper collection.
