Saturday's Workout - Polymer Clay

I haven't done it in a while, but I love working with clay.

Be sure to visit Saturday's Workout to see more artwork.

Rita Deco

I've been hearing about this place around blogland, and on Thursday my SIL and I drove out for a visit (not an easy store to find the first time out). What a treasure trove this store is! NE isn't an area that I get to very often, in fact, rarely at all, but this store makes it worth an occasional trip.

For more info. check out the blog at Rita Deco.

TMTA - Peacocks

A fun theme at TMTA this week.

My pieces are made using rubber stamps, embossing powders, a peacock photo, a hand designed and cut crown/dress (for the woman), and tiny stickers to give the eye feathers sparkle.

Since I cut out each one of those tiny eye feathers for the first ATC, and I attached those teeny tiny stickers to both, I've officially decided that I'm nuts. lol

Treasures for art projects.....

Two different thrift store trips. The plan is to alter the bottles. The point of the jewelry was/is to repurpose it into other things, but the the pearls are vintage, so I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to get myself to break the strands. lol Time will tell what I actually do with them.

The bracelets will be repurposed into other jewelry for sure.

And believe it or not, the spoons will probably be turned into jewelry as well.

Sometimes the treasure jackpot pays off.

Junk finds....

Well, junk to other people maybe...treasures to me....

Two different trips...One to Goodwill (the bottles, glass block, and spoons), the jewelry at another thrift shop. I have plans to alter the bottles, and I've always wanted one of those glass block vases. As for the jewelry, I spent more than I normally would have on the pearls, but the intention was/is to repurpose them into other projects. Problem is they're vintage, so I'm not sure I'll be able to get myself to break the strands. lol They are certainly heavy, and I think are probably made of glass. Time will tell what I actually do with them.

The bracelets will be repurposed into other jewelry.
