Barn Charm #70

This is a film photograph that I took many years ago with a simple snap and shoot.

Since the original photo was so dark, after scanning I played with lightening and adding texture. Even with as long ago as I took this, I remember the day being bright and sunny, but because the barn was set so far back in the trees it was shaded so heavily that it was impossible to get a better shot with the camera I had.

I could never remember where the barn sat, so was surprised to pass it late last summer. I hadn't been down that particular road in quite some time, but there was no mistaking the barn, or the setting. It looks very much the same as it did some 15 years ago, meaning that someone has been taking care of it, at least to some extent.

The road was seldom traveled back then, but that isn't the case today. Cars speed by way too fast for the twisty two lane road that it is, and there's no place to safely pull off or I'd take an updated picture.

I'm glad I have this one.

I really like the composition. The barn sits back into the trees and up on ridge.

Luck would have it that you find this great looking barn. It is too bad the road is now so busy.

Beautiful barn--love the texture of the wood and rust on the cement. It's a lovely setting and I'm glad it's still there.
