When was the last time you saw one of these (if you ever have)?
Well before there were mobile phones carried around in a pocket or purse, there were phone booths. Small metal and glass buildings, with hinged doors, phone books (which hung below a small metal shelf), and phones inside. You'd insert a nickel, dime, or quarter (depending on the era) and dial your number on a rotary dial (later push button).
As mobile phones became the 'must have' electronic for people on the go, phone booths slowly became outdated, ignored, and eventually removed, all but disappearing from a landscape where they were once a common sight. This little piece of history sits in a neighboring town, phone intact, still in working order.

Glad to know there's at least one out there somewhere! Thanks for sharing!
I cannot even think of where there is a working phone booth now...sort of sad!
It has been forever! I can remember checking the change return to see if there was any change left in them when I was a kid. haha
A great shot for the archives. :) It is conceivable it will be placed on the endangered species list. lol
